FOOD FOR THOUGHT: This week's "Food for Thought" is courtesy of Jake Becker of Natural Solutions, who recently presented a workshop on stress at our teacher in-service meeting:
DID YOU KNOW? Serotonin, an invaluable chemical found in the brain, helps regulate sleep patterns, stress levels and overall disposition. However, these serotonin levels can quickly decrease (and become imbalanced) due to increased stress, lack of sleep, lack of exposure to sunlight, lack of exercise and poor diet. Sound familiar?
What is the easiest way to increase serotonin levels? MOVE! Dr. Becker encourages us to Eat Right, Live Right and Move Right for healthy bodies and minds.
