Third Grade Potato Surprise

Ending the Year With a Potato Dig!

The third graders had a blast digging for potatoes at the end of the year! It was so exciting to find 104 white and purple potatoes buried under the soil like a pirate's treasure.  I have never seen so many smiles and screams of surprise.  This year in the garden has been one of the most exciting, and we are eager to dig more potatoes next year! Look out new third graders... You have some major digging to do! Be ready to get your hands in the soil!  :)

The third grade students also helped harvest eggplants and tomatoes. If you helped plant them, I would love for you to come with your parents and harvest some of the delicious vegetables! The garden is ready to be picked. (If you come to harvest, please bring hefty scissors so that you can snip the vegetables without harming the plants.) Okra, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, and basil are ready to harvest.  Soon, we will also have cucumber and watermelon!
