Welcome to St. Peter's 2.0

Are you friending on facebook, tweeting on Twitter, uploading pictures to share on Flickr? If so, you are probably shocked that it has taken us some time to move our communications into the 21st century! Jaime Melton and I have been hard at work this summer making the switch here at St. Peter's.

As you are now well aware, one of our first steps was to create this blog that will allow us to share daily and/or weekly events and information keeping you plugged in to life as we know it at least from 8:30 until 3:00. It will also allow us to link to other sections like Flickr (for photo sharing), YouTube, or podcasts which will feature your children doing exciting things here at school.

I encourage you to bookmark this site for easy access and feel free to send suggestions, comments, and pictures that we may include on our posts. We want this to be an active line of communication! We will also use the blog to post important announcements worthy of your attention, and first up on the agenda is our new foodservice program for the upcoming year.

We are thrilled to welcome GREENLIFE GROCERY to St. Peter's as our new provider! This has been a culmination of lots of brainstorming, and the timing was perfect, as Sodexho decided not to renew their contract. Be on the lookout at registration for Charlie Loomis, Greenlife's Executive Chef, who will be on hand to answer questions about the new lunch program, and he might even have a sample to taste. We are working on a icon to click on the school website which will link you to the monthly menu and other educational material regarding the program. Daily lunch will still be optional, and the cost will be $4.25 per day. Students will have a choice between a hot lunch option or two other cold options. We are dedicated to providing fresh food prepared daily and even supporting local farmers when possible! Expect more information as we approach the start of school.

Well, all for now....check back often as we will be adding posts regularly! Here's our blogspot link : http://stpetersepiscopalschool.blogspot.com for bookmarking. Feel free to "tweet" it to other parents, friends, or prospective families or post it on your Facebook page -- let's make it viral!
