Preschoolers "Down On The Farm" at Crabtree Farms
Ms. Ceacy and Ms. Holly’s classes rolled up their pants legs and kicked up their galoshes to learn more about going green and exactly what was "growing down" at Crabtree Farms this fall.
The kids started with a tour of the grounds learning about all the little sprouts that were just peeking out this Fall. Bees are not just for stinging. They have a job to do on the farm and we learned all about it!
We learned how pumpkins grow and their many stages before we see them in October at local produce stands. What a surprise it was to see big mushrooms growing under logs in the woods! We even got to hold them! The children were able to make bird-seed mosaics and go on a scavenger hunt to located the many different types of trees that populate the farm. We can’t wait to go back in the Spring to visit the sprouts that have grown up!
