Congratulations goes to our very own Elizabeth Van Deusen who was the Second Grade winner for Fire Prevention Week. The Chattanooga Fire Department held its annual Fire Prevention Week Awards Ceremony Monday morning at the Fire Training Center. With Mayor Ron Littlefield, Fire Chief Randy Parker and Fire Marshal David Brooks presiding, prizes were awarded to the winners of the fire safety quiz and the poster contest.
The fire safety quiz was given to students in grades K-5 at public and private schools in Chattanooga. The winners for each grade answered all of the multiple choice questions about fire safety correctly and came the closest to guessing the number of alarms the department responded to during the course of Fire Prevention Week. Each winner received a brand new bicycle.
