I always love to go to Julia's classes. She and her classmates are always having a great time and seem eager to involve a visitor in their day.
Ms. Holly mentioned that the kids were studying England this year. Since I studied in London for a semester in college (and have returned many times since), I thought I might be able to share my enthusiasm for British culture.
At snack time, we handed out scones, cream and tea. Then I showed a few pictures of what I thought were highlights of English history. The girls especially liked the pictures of Queen Elizabeth (no shock there!) and everybody enjoyed talking about castles and Big Ben. I also sent all of the kids home with a CD of English music ranging from Thomas Tallis (16th century) to the Beatles.
Thank you, Sarah! Please visit the Photo Gallery for more pictures...
