St. Peter's Episcopal School "E"pistle
March 26, 2010 -- Spring Break Edition!
New Textcaster Service Available to Parents
With increased need for swift communication with parents, the school has invested in a new text alert service,Textcaster, available to St. Peter's parents and faculty. This service will offer late-breaking news updates regarding weather and emergency alerts, urgent school reminders and event news. Many of these text messages will be exclusive to textcaster users only.
Go to the school web site www.saintpetersschool.net, click on Current Families and then 'St. Peter's Alerts' to follow the simple two-step process to enroll your mobile number(s) and/or email addresses for important school notifications.
You can also visit Textcaster directly to enroll for this program at http://my.textcaster.com/ServePopup.aspx?id=1697.
This service is completely optional. It's offered as one more method of communication we hope to provide for the ease of our parents.
*****NOTE: Responsibility for sign-up and editing of mobile numbers is the reponsibility of parents, as an opt-in approval is required.

Concert to Benefit Metropolitan Ministry
You are welcome to attend a benefit concert next week, featuring Atlanta-based C.C.BOOKER III, with the soul-jazz music of Ray Charles, King Curtis & Booker T, and led by musician Will Scruggs. The concert is Wednesday, April 28, beginning at 7 PM. Sets will begin at 7 & 9 PM. Tickets are $10 for one set or $15 for both. The concert will be held at LINDSAY STREET HALL (on the corner of Lindsay St/MLK Blvd). All concert proceeds benefit the Metropolitan Ministry's (formerly the Episcopal Metropolitan Ministry) Human Needs Fund.
School Earns Sponsorship with EPFAC
HATS OFF to St. Peter's students, teachers and families for supporting the school's recent PINK DAY fundraiser to benefit Emily's Power for A Cure (EPFAC). Between coin donations, out of uniform donations and red and pink sales, the school raised over $1,300. Ms. Ceacy and Ms. Carol's pre-k class also raised nearly $500 "Jumpin' for Emily." For the school's significant donation, our logo will appear on running jerseys for Emily's team at the Country Music Marathon and Half-Marathon in April. Over 100 participants have registered to run and walk in this special event. WAY TO GO!
Want to help even more? Eat at Chick-Fil-A this Monday, March 29, (either location), and a percentage of the proceeds will benefit EPFAC. Look for the blue flier in Friday folders for exact times and information!
