Shocking!!

The St. Peter’s First grade recently enjoyed talking about different types of circuits with Mr. Shawn Arrington, Creighton's dad. With Spring Break starting the next day, the students were bouncing around, just like the electrons trying to get out of a battery. Ms. Adkins also helped demonstrate what types of things conduct, or let electricity through, although she may not have known. They explored both series and parallel circuits and compared them to taking a Spring Break trip to Disneyworld, the beach, and Nashville. They agreed that if everybody went to ALL three, they would be pretty tired – just like the lights were dim in a series circuit. However, if they could concentrate all of their energy in one location they could stay more excited – just like the bright lights in a parallel circuit. The dangers of a short circuit were also talked about – with some interesting results…
