Cutting to the Core -- Apples and Rosh Hashanah

How many pounds of apples can 22 third graders eat? SIX!

Today, third grade classes enjoyed a special snack to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. After learning about the symbolic Jewish new year in chapel today, third graders enjoyed feasting on fresh slices of apple dipped in honey. This is a traditional snack during this holy time, representing hope for a "sweet" new year.

Third graders also enjoyed a treat with homemade cider that Ms. Schlosser brought from Fairmount Orchards on Signal Mountain. The kids were clamoring for more apples and honey until they were gone.
