The second grade led a special grade school chapel celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. day. As a part of the Core Knowledge Curriculum, the students study civil rights, equality, nonviolent resistance, tolerance, and leadership. They provided readings and artwork celebrating the work of Dr. King and others who have led us to a world where we all can live out our dreams regardless of our race. We also enjoyed a special vocal and recorder performance of "We Shall Overcome" by second grader, Eliza Brand.
Kudos to all the students and teachers!
