Students at St. Peter's School attended school on Monday, which for many was a holiday. Kindergarten and grade school students began MLK Day with a special chapel program featuring a play about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s experiences and impact on our country. As pictured above, second graders spelled out "HERO" during the program.
Kindergarten students took this lesson further, including basic issues of "what makes you different?" and respecting others. Both Kindergarten classes joined together to create individual "crayons" depicting themselves. They created these after reading the book, "The Crayon Box That Talked." The book, authored by Shane Derolf, focuses on the harmony that can come from diversity. See their special Kindergarten "crayon box," as pictured.
